Introducing GRADFORMS.OSU.EDU

Patrick S. Osmer — July 24, 2014

Pat Osmer

The Graduate School's new electronic forms submission and review process--GRADFORMS.OSU.EDU--will go live on August 11. A number of graduate programs have been helping us test the new system, and I’m eager to open it to all of you.

GRADFORMS.OSU.EDU will help you in many ways. It will reduce the time spent obtaining signatures on forms, and the time spent tracking where the form is in the approval process. We have integrated student and graduate faculty data into the system, which will reduce the chances of errors being entered onto the forms.

Staff who have participated in the pilot are enthusiastic about HOW this change helps graduate students, faculty, and staff alike carry out their responsibilities, and I’m eager to see what you think.

Patrick S. Osmer is vice provost of graduate studies and dean of the Graduate School at Ohio State. He is also a recent past chair of the board of directors for the Council of Graduate Schools. Osmer was chair of the Ohio State astronomy department from 1993-2006.

I do love the manner in which you have presented this issue and it really does supply me personally a lot of fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, coming from everything that I have personally seen, I simply hope when the feed-back pack on that people today stay on point and don't embark on a tirade regarding some other news du jour. All the same, thank you for this excellent point and even though I do not necessarily agree with this in totality, I value the viewpoint.

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. <a href="http://www.SEORankingLinks.com">Seo Plugin</a>
