Introducing Scott Herness, interim dean

Patrick S. Osmer — August 27, 2015

It’s been my privilege to serve you and the graduate community for the past nine years as vice provost for graduate studies and dean of the Graduate School. On Monday, Aug. 31,  I am stepping down as dean to return to the faculty in the Department of Astronomy and my activities in science. Scott Herness, who has served as associate dean in the Graduate School for the past three years, is the incoming interim dean and vice provost. I can assure you that he is just as committed to graduate education.

This experience has been one of the high points of my professional career, and I want you to know that the entire staff of the Graduate School is here to help you succeed.
