On August 1, 2011, the revised GRE will be implemented. The current GRE format will be discontinued. Changes are significant. The changes involve content and question types for all three GRE sections (verbal, quantitative, analytical writing). Changes are also being made to the scoring scales for the verbal and quantitative .

A free test prep for the revised test was made available in July 2010.

Applicants who need their score report before November 2011 must take the General Test before August 1, 2011. Score reports for tests taken between August and October 2011 will become available November 2011.
