Three Minute Thesis Competition at Ohio State

M. Scott Herness — October 09, 2015

M. Scott Herness, interim vice provost for graduate studies and dean of the graduate school

I am excited to announce that the Graduate School will be piloting a Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at Ohio State in late February. The 3MT is a competition for doctoral students to “effectively explain their research to a non-specialist audience” in only three minutes and using only one static slide.

Find out more about the competition and see videos of past competition winners on the 3MT website.

During the pilot we will be limiting participation to 50 post-candidacy graduate students. Applications will open on November 1, and we will host information sessions in early November. We will share more details soon. In the meantime, if you have questions or are a faculty member interested in serving as a judge, let us know.
